Experience the Timeless Elegance of Biltmore House
Biltmore House is truly a wonder of architecture and hospitality. Completed in 1895, George Vanderbilt’s 250-room château is as impressive today as it was more than a century ago. As part of your package, you’re invited to enjoy a 90-minute self-guided audio tour of the house where you’ll learn about the Vanderbilts, their guest and servants, and the surrounding architecture, design, and artwork. Your self-guided house visit spans three floors and the basement. Almost all of the priceless objects on display throughout the Biltmore House are from George and Edith Vanderbilt’s original collection. You’ll see vintage clothing, accessories, art, furniture, and more that tell stories and illustrate the lives of the Vanderbilt family, their guests, and employees. Get a close look at original art by Pierre-Auguste Renoir and John Singer Sargent. Marvel at magnificent 16th-century tapestries, the Library with 10,000 volumes, and the Banquet Hall featuring a 70-foot ceiling. State-of-the-art for the 19th century, Biltmore House amenities include 65 fireplaces, an indoor pool, an electric elevator, and a bowling alley.
Explore the Estate Grounds
In our beautiful historic gardens—designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, father of American landscape architecture—walking paths and trails lead from the wisteria-draped Library Terrace to the Bass Pond, winding through six distinctly different gardens, woodlands, and meadows. Biltmore’s horticultural experts continually work to preserve the original vision for the gardens and grounds, including the Rose Garden that features more than 250 varieties.
